SUMMARY
This position will maintain, design, plan and execute network improvements to ensure availability, performance, and security of enterprise IT networks.
THE ROLE
- Design or implement new network solutions and/or improve efficiency of current networks
- Install, configure and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
- Configure firewall rules, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Proactive monitoring of network performance
- Ensure network security, availability and integrity
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues
- Planning and suggesting solutions for network improvement
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Document changes made to the company’s network and keep network diagrams current
- May be required to shadow server administrator in a backup capacity
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Preferably at least 5 years working experience in network environment
- CCNA certification is advantageous
- Knowledge of BGP, OSPF/EIGRP and inter-VLAN routing
- Good knowledge of network & security best practices used in the industry
- Good working knowledge of Cloud infrastructure and Cloud-Based networking is a plus point
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP and other protocols
- Knowledge of Windows Server administrator, AD infrastructure, Linux is a plus point
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problems solving skills
- A team player who can work with different levels of users
